Privacy & Terms
How you can use Lapse.re and how your personal data is handled.
Terms of Service
1. About these Terms
These Terms apply to your access to and use of the Lapse.re website and any software protection services made available through it (the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you enter into a separate written agreement or order with Lapse.re, that agreement governs where it conflicts with these Terms.
2. The Services
Lapse.re provides software protection services, including Blackout for Java and native applications. The specific scope, supported inputs and platforms, deliverables, fees, and service conditions will be confirmed before an order is accepted.
Service availability and compatibility can depend on the application, the selected code, and the supported target environment. Any requirements or limitations communicated for a particular engagement form part of that engagement.
3. Your responsibilities
You must have the rights and authority needed to submit each application, executable, or other material to Lapse.re and to request the Services for it. You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of the materials and instructions you provide.
Keep your own source files and backups, review and test each deliverable in your environment before release, and use the Services in compliance with applicable law and third-party rights.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use the Services to violate the law, infringe another party’s rights, interfere with or compromise systems without authorization, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the Services.
5. Intellectual property
You retain the rights you hold in the materials you submit. Lapse.re and its licensors retain their rights in the website, the Services, the Lapse.re and Blackout names, and related software and materials. Any rights to use a service deliverable will be set out in the applicable order or written agreement.
6. Fees and orders
Any fees, payment terms, delivery schedule, and service-specific conditions will be provided in the applicable proposal, order, or written agreement. An order is accepted only when confirmed by Lapse.re in writing.
7. Security and service limitations
Software protection can raise the effort required to analyze or tamper with an application, but no protection can guarantee that software will never be analyzed, modified, or compromised. You remain responsible for assessing your security needs and validating protected applications before deployment.
8. Availability and changes
We may update or change the website and Services over time. We will communicate any material service-specific changes through the applicable order or written agreement. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Consumers
If you use the Services as a consumer, any mandatory rights available to you under applicable consumer-protection law remain unaffected by these Terms.
Privacy Policy
1. Scope and data controller
This notice covers personal data processed when you browse the Lapse.re website. Any additional processing associated with an order or software protection service will be explained before the relevant data is collected.
You can reach us at [email protected] for any question about this notice or to exercise your rights.
2. Browsing data and submitted files
Delivering this website involves processing connection data, including your IP address and the requested page. Depending on the hosting configuration, server logs may also contain request times, browser information, and technical errors.
Executable files you upload for protection are stored temporarily while they are being processed and are deleted when processing is complete. They are not retained after the process ends.
3. Contact form
If you use the contact form, we process the name, email address, and message you submit in order to reply to you and handle your inquiry, which is necessary to take steps at your request and serves our legitimate interest in answering requests. The message is delivered to Lapse.re by email and kept on our server only for as long as needed to handle your request and keep a record of the correspondence. We do not use it for marketing.
To protect the form from abuse, it uses a signed, time-limited token and temporary rate limiting based on a one-way hash of your IP address. This hash is not stored together with your message and is deleted automatically.
4. Cookies and theme preference
The website does not include advertising or analytics trackers. Fonts, icons, stylesheets, and scripts are served from this website, without loading these resources from third-party services.
The theme selector stores your display preference (automatic, light, or dark) in your browser’s local storage under lapse_theme. This preference is read locally to apply your chosen theme. It has no automatic expiry and remains until it is replaced or your browser clears it. You can remove it by clearing this website’s data in your browser settings.
5. Service providers and international transfers
Hosting and infrastructure providers may process browsing data as part of delivering the website.
6. External links
The website contains links to external sites, including LinkedIn. Following one of these links takes you to a separate service, where personal data is handled under that service’s own privacy policy.
7. Your rights
Subject to the conditions of applicable data protection law, you may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, restriction of processing, or data portability. You may also object to processing where that right applies. If processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
To exercise your rights, use the privacy contact above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority.
